Terms of service
Last updated:
In short: VacayMatch finds and publishes trips; it does not sell them. Nothing is booked on this site. Prices are what we found at the time shown and change; the binding price is the one on the booking site. Links are referral links on our own domain: the booking site pays us a fee, your price does not change.
1. Acceptance
These terms govern the VacayMatch website and the VacayMatch WhatsApp assistant at +1 (302) 662-3415 (together, the "service"), operated by The VacayMatch team ("we", "us"). The service is for residents of the United States aged 18 and over. Using the site, sending a trip request, voting in a poll, subscribing to the email or messaging the assistant means you accept these terms and the privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. What the service does
VacayMatch is a travel publication. Around the clock it finds, for the US metros it covers, the best trips to take next and publishes a page for each with the round-trip flight price, hotels, the weather, things to do, a cost estimate and a short editorial text. Readers can ask for a specific trip, create a poll between trips and sign up for a weekly email. The WhatsApp assistant answers questions about trips, compares options and sends links.
Pages and replies are information to support your decision, not professional, legal, financial or insurance advice. Text is drafted with AI tools from the data shown and every number in it is checked by code against that data; it can still contain mistakes. Verify the essentials (dates, passenger names, cancellation terms, passport and visa rules) on the booking site before you book.
3. Not a travel agency, no bookings here
VacayMatch does not sell travel, does not take payments and does not book on your behalf. Nothing is bought on this site. Your contract is with the airline, hotel, tour seller or booking site you book on, under its terms; booking, payment, tickets, changes, cancellations, refunds and customer service rest with it. Claims about a booking go to that supplier.
4. Prices and availability
- Every price on a page is what we found at the time shown on that page ("Prices checked"), per person unless stated, with taxes and mandatory fees as the source quoted them.
- Prices and availability change constantly, sometimes within minutes. The binding price is the one shown on the booking site at checkout. A past trip page keeps the price it had when we found it, as a record.
- Currency conversions are approximate; a supplier may charge in another currency, and your card may add a fee.
- We try to cover every source we can reach and do not warrant that a price we found is the lowest in existence.
5. Referral links and how we earn
Links to suppliers are short redirect links on our own domain. When you book through one, the booking site or its referral network pays us a referral fee. The fee does not change your price. Picks are chosen by price against the route's history, nonstop flights, weather and season, never by what a site pays, and no pick can be bought. A one-line disclosure appears next to every group of links, as the Federal Trade Commission's Endorsement Guides ask. Full disclosure.
6. Trip requests, polls and the weekly email
- A trip request ("Ask") becomes a public page under the city you chose or named. Do not include personal details in a request. We may decline requests that are not about a trip, and we limit requests per reader per day.
- A poll is public to anyone with its link, counts one vote per browser and closes after 14 days.
- The weekly email needs a confirmed address (double opt-in); every email carries an unsubscribe link and our mailing address, as the CAN-SPAM Act requires.
7. Messages on WhatsApp
The assistant sends messages on its own only after you consent, and only about your own trip: a price alert you asked for, a reminder before you fly, a check on whether you booked, tips before and after landing. Message frequency varies. Reply STOP to end them and HELP for help. Message and data rates from your carrier may apply. Use of WhatsApp is also subject to WhatsApp's own terms.
8. Fair use
The service is for personal vacation planning. Do not use it to collect prices automatically, to harass anyone, to post unlawful content in a request or a poll title, or to infringe others' rights. We may limit or end the service for anyone who breaches these terms.
9. Intellectual property
The name VacayMatch, the mark, logo, design and the editorial content of the site belong to us or our licensors. Photos on the pages are used under their own licences and credited next to each image; follow the licence named there if you reuse one. Information about flights, hotels and products belongs to the suppliers. Do not copy the site or use it commercially without written permission.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, that prices or availability are accurate, or that it is fit for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, including a missed trip or a price that changed, and our total liability to you for all claims relating to the service is capped at $100. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be waived under the law of your state.
11. Dispute resolution
Talk first. If you have a dispute with us, email hello@vacaymatch.co with a description of the problem and what you want. We will try to resolve it informally within 30 days.
Arbitration. If we cannot, the dispute will be resolved by binding individual arbitration under the Federal Arbitration Act, administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, before one arbitrator. You and we each waive the right to a trial by jury and to take part in a class action or representative proceeding. Either side may instead bring an individual claim in small-claims court.
Opt-out. You can opt out of arbitration by emailing hello@vacaymatch.co with the subject "Arbitration opt-out" within 30 days of first using the service. Opting out does not affect any other part of these terms.
Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, until the operating company is formed; from then on, by the laws of its state of formation, which we will name here.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. A material change will be published on this page; continued use afterwards means acceptance of the updated terms.
