Why now

At $408 per person round trip ($816 for two), this fare is $158 below the typical fare on this route. That's 28% less, and it's the lowest fare we've seen in 30 days. We checked 12 offers that ran from $408 to $735, and the median of our earlier checks is $566. The fare is for a nonstop Breeze flight that leaves Friday, Oct 23 at 2:30 PM and lands at 4:48 PM, so you still have the evening. Late October comes after the hot, crowded July and August stretch and after the August–September hurricane peak. The forecast shows highs of 80–85°F with rain chances of 10% or less. It's a beach weekend with time for golf, a marsh paddle or a garden walk. Prices include taxes and fees as of when we checked, and they can change.

The kind of trip this is

This is an easy beach getaway: sand, the boardwalk, a round of golf if you want one, and nothing that needs an early alarm. It suits a couple or two friends who want warm weather without a long flight, and the pace is slow on purpose. Two nights gives you one full Saturday on the Grand Strand, sixty miles of Atlantic sand lined with resorts and golf courses.
