About VacayMatch
Last updated:
VacayMatch picks the trip that’s worth it from your city. Tell us what the trip is for. We pick the one that’s worth it, show you exactly why, give you the total before you go, and stay on your side until you’re home.
We are a small team of travel editors and engineers. Around the clock, for each of 85 US metros, we check live fares and places to stay and pick the trips worth taking next: next weekend, the weekend after, and a week away next month. Every pick is a page with the verdict, three concrete reasons, the catch, who it is for, and the total before you go: flights for two, the hotel, taxes and fees. Past picks stay online as a public record of what it cost then.
The three tests a pick has to pass
- Worth it, or we tell you why not
- The total, before you go
- Someone on your side
- Worth the money. Three concrete reasons you will actually use (the nonstop, the view, the walk to the beach, the hotel score), and the catch, stated openly. If a pick fails, the page says so: not worth it this week, and why.
- The total before you go. Flights for two, the best-value hotel for the stay, taxes and fees, added up on the page; and what is not in it (a checked bag, seat picks, a resort fee collected at the desk).
- Someone on your side. Before, during and when something breaks: on WhatsApp we watch a price for you, remind you before you fly and tell you what the airline owes you under US rules.
What we are not
We do not sell travel, take payments or make bookings. When you are ready, the links on a page take you to the airline, the hotel or a booking site, where you book under their terms. Some of those links are referral links; the booking site pays us a fee when you book, and your price stays the same. We never accept payment for a pick. The full disclosure.
How the pages are made
Prices come from live searches at the time shown on each page; new picks land around the clock and a city's picks are refreshed as readers visit. An editorial scoring ranks the candidates and AI tools help read the finalists. We use AI tools to draft the text of each page from the data on it; code checks every number in the draft against that data and rejects what does not match, and the team reviews pages and fixes or removes what readers report. How we pick, in detail.
