We checked three Kyoto hotels for the full stay. APA Hotel Kyoto Ekimae is the best value at $1,687 for the stay ($187 a night), rated 7.9 from 3,277 reviews, with free cancellation. Comfort Hotel ERA Kyoto Toji is the budget pick at $2,004 ($223 a night), rated 9 from 3,914 reviews, also with free cancellation. Both sit in the Kyoto Station area, which is convenient for the shinkansen and day trips. hotel anddoggy Kyoto Nijo is the top rated at $2,038 ($226 a night), scoring 9.5 from 385 reviews, and it's dog friendly, but it isn't free to cancel. It's in Nakagyo Ward, close to Downtown Kyoto (Kawaramachi and Shijo), which is good for shopping and dining with Nishiki Market and Pontocho alley at hand. All three are room only.
