All three picks are in North Charleston, so you'll drive to the Historic District / South of Broad, where the antebellum mansions and cobbled lanes are all walkable, and to King Street, the main shopping and restaurant strip. Hampton Inn & Suites North Charleston-University Boulevard is the best value at $307 for the stay ($154 a night). It's rated 8.5 from 388 reviews and includes breakfast, but it has no free cancellation.
