Add nine nights at Aqua Aloha Surf Waikiki and the trip comes to $2,716 for two, all in, with the $210 resort fee counted. A checked bag and spending money are not. In mid-November Oahu runs highs of 81–82°F and lows near 73°F. It's also the start of big-wave season on the North Shore, with humpback whales offshore, and it comes before the December peak family season and its highest rates. Prices are all-in as we found them and can change. Nine nights gives you room for Waikiki beach days, Pearl Harbor, Diamond Head and a day up in Haleiwa.

Queen Kapiolani Hotel is the top rated, 8.4 from 1,850 reviews. Its Studio Ocean View is $2,142 for the stay ($238 a night) plus $338 at the property, with no free cancellation.
