It is Día de Muertos season, with the big parade on Reforma in late October or the first days of November, so the city will be lively. We'd hold off this week and look at a longer stay instead.

All three sit in the Reforma area. Hotel More By Kavia, in Tabacalera, is the best value at $222 for the 2 nights ($111 a night), scored 9.1 from 284 reviews and has free cancellation; it's the hotel in our total. Casa Pani, in Colonia Cuauhtemoc, is the top rated at 9.3 from 177 reviews, $254 for the stay ($127 a night), without free cancellation. Reforma Guest House, also in Colonia Cuauhtemoc, is the budget pick at $223 for the stay ($112 a night), 9.1 from 1,158 reviews, with a Junior Apartment with Terrace and no free cancellation. All three are room only. For dinner, Roma Norte has the city's densest run of restaurants, cafés and mezcal bars, while Condesa is leafy and quieter at night.
