Add 9 nights at Oasis Hotel Waikiki with its resort fee and the trip comes to $2,976 for two before you go. Mid-November is big-wave surf season on the North Shore, with humpback whales offshore, and it's ahead of the December peak family season and its highest rates. Typical highs run 81–82°F with lows near 73°F. The normals lean toward drizzle, so pack a light rain layer. Nine nights gives you time for Waikiki, Pearl Harbor and a full day up north without rushing. These prices are what we found at the time shown, and they can change.

Oasis Hotel Waikiki is the best value and the one in our total: $1,439 for 9 nights ($160 a night), rated 7.9 from 1,511 reviews, with free cancellation and a $227 resort fee paid at the property. Aqua Palms Waikiki is the alternate at $1,704 for the stay ($189 a night). It scores 8.1 from 1,291 reviews but has no free cancellation and charges $269 in fees at the property. Moana Surfrider, A Westin Resort & Spa, Waikiki Beach is the top rated at 8.9 from 714 reviews. It runs $4,351 for the stay ($483 a night) in a Historic Banyan Room, plus $686 in fees at the property. If you want quiet instead, Ko Olina has lagoon resorts on the west side.
